Dilated Small Blood Vessels
Telangiectasias are very common on the face however they are
treatable. Dr. Banki specializes in treating these small blood
vessels to restore the appearance of flawless skin. Small blood
vessels can develop for a number of reasons. Some causes include:
Congenital cases, acquired cases including acne rosacea, environmental
damage such as that caused by sun or cold exposure, age, radiation,
and also several systemic conditions including scleroderma and
carcinoid syndrome.
Dr. Banki treats broken blood vessels with
Vbeam Perfecta laser
treatments. This is an extremely effective way to treat these vessels.
Vbeam Perfecta is a laser that delivers pulse of laser energy at a
wavelength of 595nm that passes through skin and is absorbed by the
oxyhemoglobin in the blood vessels. The heat from the laser destroys
the targeted blood vessels and thus reduces the numbers of these blood
vessels.
It is advisable for patients to wait for tanned skin to fade before
beginning treatments. Treatments vary on every patient however Dr.
Banki will take the time to discuss your condition and will have a
plan in place to assure the most effective results. Some patients may
experience redness and swelling immediately following treatment,
applying ice packs to the area will reduce these symptoms.
