Lipoma Excision

What is a lipoma? A lipoma is a slow growing almost always benign fatty tumor. They are usually found in the subcutaneous tissue beneath the skin. Lipomas do not usually need to be removed although if bothersome to the patient it can be excised.

Dr. Banki will evaluate the lipoma and if excision is required he will excise the lipoma in the office. The area of concern will be numbed with a local anesthetic and an excision will be made to remove the lipoma.

A follow up visit may be needed for suture removal and to re-evaluate the area. If you have a lipoma or unsure if you have one call Banki Dermatology for a consultation.
